The Month of July is officially dedicated to raising awareness for the” Sarcoma” which represents 1% of adult cancers and 15% of child cancers and can develop any age and there is an equal risk for male and females. Sarcomas can occur throughout the body and begins in the bone, connective tissue, blood vessels, or fat. Though rare, at one time there are about 50,000 people suffering with Sarcoma and it is forecasted that around 13000 people will be diagnosed with this fatal disease this year.
With timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment Sarcomas can be combatted.
Immunohistochemistry is an integral component in differential diagnosis, analysis and prognosis of this soft tissue cancers.
Awareness is the first step towards change.
