Diagnostic BioSystems FITC’s antibodies featured in international publication by the LV Prasad Eye Institute Hyderabad.

We are elated to inform you that our FITC-conjugated antibodies were used in supporting a recent publication in JoVE, highlighting the Technique of Conjunctival Biopsy and Direct Immunofluorescence (DIF) for diagnosing Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid (MMP).

Overview:

• Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid (MMP) is a chronic, scarring conjunctivitis that can cause vision loss if untreated. Early detection using Direct Immunofluorescence (DIF) of conjunctival biopsy is key for timely management.
• DBS FITC antibodies were utilized to detect IgG, IgA, IgM, and C3 deposits at the epithelial basement membrane zone (BMZ), enabling clear visualization and high diagnostic accuracy.

Clinical relevance:

• DIF with FITC antibodies plays a crucial role in differentiating MMP from drug-induced cicatrizing conjunctivitis and pseudopemphigoid, ensuring accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
